Expungement Law
Felony expungement law allows you to erase your criminal conviction record by withdrawing your plea and having the case dismissed, under most circumstances.
Expungement law is somewhat confusing in different areas, but the expungement process SHOULD be done by anyone with even a minor history of arrest or drinking and driving conviction under state law. Despite popular belief, records do not "go away" after many years, but want the filing of a Petition in Court under expungement law.
Expungement law can take from two months to almost a year and varies upon the Court and how severe the case is. The fees are reasonable, and include research, filing fees, the drafting of the Petition, and any Attorney in Court showings. Law enforcement agencies, the legal system and the DMV keep DWI records.
